Versa-Link ATX250®ATX-250 Versa-Link Call Processor
Automatic Call Processor
Phone/Fax/Modem Switch
Automatic or Distinctive Ring Mode

The Versa-Link ATX-250 (ATX) allows two telephony devices to share a single telephone line, eliminating costly phone lines that routes calls based on CNG and DTMF tones or distinctive ring service.

The Versa-Link ATX-250 is an automatic call processor that routes calls based on Distinctive Ring, Comfort Noise Generator (CNG) and Dual-tone Multi-frequency (DTMF) tones to phones, a fax, modem, or any other device. Dip switches on the device allow for easy programming.

This call switch can also be used with any Selective or Distinctive Ring Service offered by local telephone companies in North America. In Selective Ring mode, the unit will route inbound calls to the appropriate device based on the ring cadence of each distinctive ring number.

Barge-in protection keeps your data transmission free from interruption. A busy signal is heard when other devices attempt to use the outgoing line.

How does the Versa-Link ATX-250 work?
The ATX installs on an analog phone line and answers inbound calls at the first sign of ring voltage. After the ATX goes off‐hook, it immediately screens for fax and DTMF transfer codes. During this processing period, a “ring back” tone is issued to the calling party.

Once a transfer command is received, the call is routed to the corresponding port. In the absence of fax/transfer codes, the call is defaulted to device port #1.

Outbound calls are processed in the normal fashion with barge‐in protection. Priority call over‐ride can allow a device on port #1 to interrupt any transmission for critical outbound calls.

Product Overview
The Versa-Link ATX-250 enables businesses to communicate with remote telecom and network assets more affordably, efficiently, and securely.

The Versa-Link ATX-250 (ATX) allows two telephony devices to share a single telephone line, eliminating costly phone lines that routes calls based on CNG and DTMF tones or distinctive ring service. DIP switches located on the device let you easily change programming.

The ATX automatically routes calls to phone, fax, or dial‐up modems, ensuring that the right resource is reached the first time. This consistent connectivity prevents time consuming dial‐backs and helps to streamline polling and data acquisition processes.

The output jacks are labeled Device 1 and 2 leaving the user free to use any combination of communication devices. Although the most typical application is sharing voice and fax, the ATX-250 can also be used with fax and modem, two modems, voice and modem.

In additions to sharing fax, ATX-250 can also be used for remote-site polling of cash registers, security monitoring systems, PC MODEMS, energy/climate control systems and LAN access switching, just about anything that you can connect to a phone line.

In addition to cost savings and precise routing, the ATX is engineered to provide an additional layer of security to connected devices. Vulnerable pathways to equipment via the PSTN are protected by programmable Security Access Codes up to six characters.
